The project explores Russian cultural memory through the language of today - with irony, recognizable images, and precise visual intonation. Folklore motifs, fairy-tale characters, and familiar symbols transform into a living system of signs understandable to a person of the digital age. At the center of the exhibition is an attempt to feel modern Russian identity. Artist Elena Langer turns to folklore, signs, rituals, holidays, and beliefs, but considers them not as a frozen heritage, but as material for a new conversation. The historical layer is translated into a visual language of jokes, games, and internet culture. Her method is based on processing cultural codes into a clear and quickly readable form. Laconic compositions of local color planes are populated by expressive characters, in which familiar fairy-tale and literary plots can be discerned. At the same time, behind the external simplicity lies a more complex system of associations: echoes of Russian avant-garde and resonances with masters of the 20th century can be heard in the works.
