The exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of Nikolai Nekrasov's poem offers a look at its themes through historical context and modern perception. The exhibition addresses the poem of the same name by Nikolai Nekrasov, offers a dialogue between the 19th century and the present, and poses the question: has the understanding of who lives well changed today? The focus is on the peasant reform of 1861, the fate of the people, thoughts on happiness, the status of women, and the social contradictions that the author wrote about. A special place is occupied by the figure of Grisha Dobrosklonov - the hero sought by the characters of the work. His image becomes the key to understanding the answer to the main question. The exhibition features lifetime editions of the poem and the magazine "Sovremennik", as well as illustrations, paintings and graphic works, sculptures, peasant household items, and exhibits from the collections of the State Russian Museum of A.S.
