The exhibition tells about a little-known page in the history of Russian collecting and the fate of the princes of Baryatinsky. The history of one dynasty is revealed through objects, books, paintings, sculptures, porcelain and bronze items. Before the viewer appears the image of a family for whom art was an important part of upbringing and the transmission of values. The exhibition brings together materials from different eras. They help to feel the atmosphere of the time and understand how the artistic taste of several generations was formed. Special attention is paid to the very process of creating the collection. The collected works reflect not only the personal preferences of the owners but also the broader cultural context in which Russian aristocracy developed. The project is the result of many years of research, during which new facts regarding the family collection were discovered and the history of Russian estate culture was clarified. Where to go in Moscow today is known by KUDAGO.
