Watercolor silhouettes turn into an archive of personal testimonies about time, labor, and memory. Ekaterina Muromtseva shows people through their shadows and reflects on those whose participation in cultural life often goes unrecognized. The basis of the exhibition is a series of watercolors that Ekaterina Muromtseva worked on from 2020 to 2022. The artist began it in Zagreb shortly before the pandemic: she invited employees of cultural institutions to her studio, talked to them about working conditions, and then captured their shadows on paper. Instead of familiar portraits, figures emerged in which the absence of a person speaks as expressively about them as a face or gesture. The heroes are the people through whom exhibitions and artistic projects arise, although their contributions often go unnoticed. Later, the circle of participants expanded, but the method remained: the interview was complemented by a "shadow portrait." Each interviewee was asked the question: "When did you first feel that you were living inside history?" The answers were incorporated into the works and turned the series into a collection of personal testimonies. Entertainment in Moscow is collected on KUDAGO.
