Painted impressions from China and Africa come together in a vivid narrative about travel, light, and a shift in artistic perspective. The exhibition shows how encountering another culture helps an artist see the world in new colors. At the center of the exhibition are the works of Anastasia Nikolaeva-Berg, created under the impression of trips to China, Senegal, and Morocco. For the artist, these routes became not just a collection of exotic subjects, but a profound internal experience that changed her usual perception of color, space, and the human form. The Chinese line is connected to her teaching work in Shenzhen and a trip to Hong Kong. The Pacific Rim Peoples Festival, seen almost by chance, remained in her memory as a flash of movement, costumes, faces, and rhythms. Later, these impressions found continuation in painting, where documentary observation merges with emotional freedom. The African series was born after working with young artists in Dakar. The light, density of the air, the plasticity of people, and the contrasts of the urban environment gave the author a new impulse. A separate layer is connected to a trip through Morocco.
