The exhibition introduces the special world of Evgeny Rastorguev - an artist who transformed memories of Gorodets into a bright, playful, and slightly theatrical universe. Here, lubok hints, folk culture, humor, and personal memory come together to form a cohesive and recognizable artistic language. Before the viewer unfolds not just a collection of the master's works, but a whole story of artistic transformation. Evgeny Rastorguev has traveled from a front-line draftsman and a graduate of the Surikov Institute to the creator of a visual world where childhood impressions, folk art, and bold experimentation merge into one expressive system. The center of the project is a series that grew out of memories of the Volga Gorodets. The artist reinterprets the familiar environment as a festive, slightly grotesque space where reality changes under the influence of imagination. In his compositions, one can feel the echoes of lubok, fairground, folk theater, Gorodets painting, and even Russian avant-garde. Particular interest is aroused by small drawings and watercolors that the author himself called "nichevoshki."
