About

The tactile project invites visitors to experience sculpture through touch, making art accessible to the blind and visually impaired. It is also open to anyone who wants to feel the form and material with their hands. The exhibition is built on the principle of full tactile access: all works are allowed to be touched. Primarily, it is aimed at people with visual impairments who are unable to perceive art visually, but at the same time invites everyone to a direct bodily experience of interacting with sculpture. The project is implemented within the framework of a partnership program that unites the museum and the professional community of sculptors. Over the years, many well-known masters' works have been showcased, and the initiative itself has become an important platform for the development of inclusive practices in the field of art. The new exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Boris Chorstvy - one of the prominent Moscow sculptors of the late 20th and early 21st centuries and a long-time curator of the program. His work is characterized by philosophical depth and a high level of craftsmanship, repeatedly recognized by the professional community and awards. The focus is on bronze, the artist's main material. The project reveals the technology of working with metal, its transformations, and expressive possibilities, allowing one to literally "read" the form through touch. The display includes works from different years - from early references to archaic images to the latest cycle related to the author's interpretation of biblical plots. A separate section recreates the workshop space: here are gathered tools, materials, and memorabilia that accompanied the sculptor's work. The exhibition is complemented by an inclusive educational program - tours, practical clay modeling sessions, and special tactile routes with the participation of a blind guide.
