The project is timed to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin - the first president of the USSR and the first president of Russia. Their relationship was complex: starting as supporters of change, they eventually became opponents. The debate that began in the late 1980s continued for many years and was reflected in the presidential campaign of 1996, where one conceded and the other won. Despite their differing views, there were also coincidences in their actions. Both advocated for reforming the system, easing ideological pressure, expanding freedom of speech, and establishing the principle of the rule of law. Their decisions elicited both support and criticism and remain a subject of discussion to this day.
