The exhibition is dedicated to how self-perceptions are born in reflections - in the words of others, stereotypes, and familiar images of "neighbors" on the imaginary map of the world. Ekaterina Seryozhnaya collects these common clichés into a thoughtful conversation about what constitutes the feeling of "we." At the center of the project is the theme of the collective "I," which constantly compares itself with others. A person rarely looks directly at their own identity: more often, it is a chain of comparisons with the abstract "East" and the no less abstract "West," with the stamps of mass culture and historical texts that grow into self-perception year after year. Ekaterina Seryozhnaya carefully examines these ready-made images and shows how they work within everyday optics. One of the key images becomes a fence - from heavy concrete segments to a light pixel mesh. It serves as protection, decoration, and a reason to peek through a crack. Another important motif of the exhibition is mirror effects. Reflections disrupt the usual perspective: the viewer sees both figures in space and their own silhouette integrated into the visual array.
