The annual project gathers works by contemporary animalists. The exhibition features real animals, fantastic creatures, and the artist's personal perspective on nature. For over a quarter of a century, the project has introduced viewers to how animalism is changing today. The composition of participants is determined by the exhibition committee shortly before the opening. In the halls, authors from different generations, techniques, and creative temperaments meet. For some artists, the animal becomes an opportunity to study the plasticity of movement, behavior, and texture. For others, it is a way to talk about myth, fairy tale, symbol, and fantasy. The project refers to medieval bestiaries-books where real animals coexisted with creatures from legends. Animalism presents itself as a space for observation, play, and careful attention to the living world. The current Moscow program is presented on KUDAGO.
