In the halls of the Academy of Arts, the sculpture and graphics of Andrey Shcherbakov are showcased - an artist who works with eternal themes through plastic metaphors and expressive distortion of form. The exhibition provides an opportunity to see how his art combines monumentality, intimacy, and internal tension of images. The exposition introduces the works of Andrey Shcherbakov from recent years and reveals the scale of his artistic range. The halls feature sculpture and graphics in which the author addresses themes of love, the search for God, human destiny, personal and cultural memory. These motifs do not turn into a direct narrative: the artist translates them into plastic metaphors, assembling his own world from deformed, geometrically sharpened, and energetically constructed forms. His art develops in several directions - from monumental and intimate sculpture to graphics and embroidery. Such a wide range allows us to speak of him as a master for whom the technique itself is not important, but the ability to find the exact image. In a number of works, the material form gradually transforms into a sign, retaining only partially anthropomorphic traits. The sculpture is perceived not as a static object, but as a point of movement, where volumes are connected by lines and internal tension. The author's contribution to urban space deserves special attention. More than 60 of his monuments have become meaningful centers in Saratov and other Russian cities. At the same time, intimate pieces and graphic sheets show another side of his gift - an interest in the theme of femininity, harmony of the body, archaic and Christian symbols. Thanks to this, the exhibition forms a coherent narrative about an artist who convincingly works both with the scale of the urban environment and with the intimate plasticity of the image.
