Realized and unrealized projects, sketches, and graphics come together to tell the story of a master who knew how to combine urban planning thought, artistic intuition, and personal intonation. The exhibition allows one to see the creative biography of Evgeny Rapaport as a continuous movement from early architectural explorations to large urban and memorial projects that significantly influenced the visual appearance of St. Petersburg. The exposition unites completed works and ideas that remained on paper. Among the early works are educational and competition projects, as well as pieces related to Soviet modernism. Attention then shifts to more large-scale urban planning solutions. Particularly important is the section dedicated to the ensemble of Courage Square: it is here that the author's desire to think not of a single building, but of an entire urban environment, its rhythm, plasticity, and interaction with humans is felt. No less interesting are the materials on the metro and later projects, where a combination of strict structure and expressive form is evident. Of particular value are the graphic sheets and quick sketches, often made with a ballpoint pen. In them, the master's handwriting emerges - precise, lively, ironic, and at the same time composed.
