Ivan Bilibin and the Russian style will be at the center of the meeting with participants of the "Time of Young XXI" association. Guests, along with the curator, will examine the works of the exhibition dedicated to the artist's legacy, learn how his images are interpreted by 21st-century authors, and the program will continue with a concert - another way to feel the connection between eras. The legacy of Ivan Bilibin is hard to overestimate: his artistic style, fairy-tale characters, and interest in ancient Russian culture have become part of Russia's visual image. Participants of the creative association "Time of Young XXI" will present their perspective on the work of the outstanding illustrator and prove that referring to historical style does not mean a literal repetition of the past. The central part of the program will be a curator-led tour of the exhibition. It will be conducted by the head of the association, Natalia Kostetskaya. During the tour, attendees will be able to take a closer look at the works of the participants, trace the connection with Bilibin's aesthetics, and learn which techniques, motifs, and images of the artist have received new interpretations in the works of contemporary authors. After the tour, a concert will take place. The event is timed to coincide with two dates: the 150th anniversary of Ivan Bilibin's birth and the 15th anniversary of the "Time of Young XXI" association. The number of places is limited, so prior registration is required.
