The conversation will focus on Bulgakov - his theatrical biography, stage presence, and how his texts continue to resonate today. Participants will discuss their personal readings of Bulgakov, how perspectives on his characters change in theater and cinema, and why these roles still demand precision in gesture and intonation. Vladimir Steklov will share his experiences working on the characters of Azazello, Sharikov, and Professor Preobrazhensky. Georgy Dolmazyan, who will moderate the discussion, will guide the conversation through his own experiences with classic productions. The focus will be on "Days of the Turbins" and other texts, where it is particularly noticeable how human characters change against the backdrop of historical upheaval.
