Can artificial intelligence replace a live artist? The new multi-genre performance featuring stars from the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky theaters and winners of the "Onegin" award tells about the role of humans in art, love, and inspiration. "AI" stands for "Ideal Performer" - this is the kind of artist the protagonist of the performance, a neuroengineer from a multinational company, strives to create. He conducts experiments on an opera singer and... falls in love. What will he choose - to remove the neuroimplant from the girl's head and give her freedom or to gain full control over her feelings? The neural network was only used in this show for working on the video sequence and processing sound samples. Everything else was created and performed by humans. The show combines several types of art: vocals, symphonic music, performance, and video art. Academic art merges with contemporary issues, futurism, and eternal questions of love and humanity. All of this is accompanied by a live symphonic orchestra and impressive visuals. The production was directed by Dmitry Otyakovsky - an innovative director with over 50 productions on the leading stages of the country, including the Mariinsky Theater and Zaryadye, a nominee for the "Golden Mask" and a winner of the "Onegin" award, founder of the digital opera laboratory. The conductor of the performance is Alexey Repnikov. The music for the show was composed by Rustam Sagdiyev, a composer and singer who has written 14 operas and numerous other compositions. Arias from the operas of Mozart, Rossini, Offenbach, and Delibes will also be performed - both in their original form and in adaptations, with elements of modern electronic music and K-pop.
