You do not need to book for both events; you are welcome to come at 4:00 PM if you are only interested in Bengt Johansson's lecture. The Librarians - presented in collaboration with VGR. The documentary depicts the role of libraries in today's polarized USA. The film follows librarians who face demands for censorship and political pressure, and how they act to defend free access to information and freedom of speech. How to Win an Election? with Bengt Johansson - in collaboration with Folkuniversitetet. Politicians have always tried to convince voters to vote for them on election day. The path to that goes through election campaigns, where politicians travel around the country in search of votes. Campaign speeches, workplace visits, advertisements in newspapers, brochures, and not least election posters have been part of the parties' toolbox for over a hundred years. Of course, it is also important to be visible on TV, radio, and newspapers to reach out. In recent years, TV advertising - and especially advertising and posts on social media - have played an increasingly significant role in the parties' struggle for voters. But how effective is it really? Can you win an election with a nice campaign poster or a viral campaign on TikTok? Featuring: Bengt Johansson, professor at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, University of Gothenburg.
