About

The dance premiere transforms a familiar idiom into a conversation about breakdowns, restarts, and hope for a new beginning. Here, plasticity, humor, and precise rhythm come together to form a living stage mechanism that is rebuilt anew each time before the audience's eyes. At the heart of the performance is the idea that even the most reliable mechanism can fail one day, meaning that a person will once again have to piece the world back together. The dancers here resemble atoms from which a new organism is born. Through this image, the performance speaks of hope, the possibility of correction, and the right to another attempt. The choreography is built on a combination of contemporary dance, pantomime, strength supports, contactless fighting, and performative presence. The action turns out to be dynamic, at times absurd, and alive. Humor plays an important role, referencing early Monty Python sketches and street theater. The stage language does not confine itself to seriousness and constantly changes its tone. A distinctive feature of the work is the rhythm, dependent on wireless metronomes synchronized with the performers' heartbeat. Thanks to this, the dance is constructed anew each time, maintaining a sense of risk and unpredictability. The production is led by Rustam Nerustam - an interdisciplinary artist, director, choreographer, and musician. Other entertainment in St. Petersburg can be found on KUDAGO.
