About Sunflurry Sunflurry's sound is a blend of prog rock, folk, jazz, and classical styles. Blending classical elegance with rock's raw energy, they perform original music, distinctive interpretations of artists like Kate Bush, U2, and Yes, and reimagined songs by local songwriters delivering a dynamic, genre-defying performance that feels both expansive and intimate. Ruby Rendrag: Guitar/Vocals/Footdrums Born in New Orleans to a Houma Indian mother and a banjo-playing West Virginian father. With over 18 years in the music scene as a performer, former recording studio manager, and artist-services professional, he brings a rich mix of bluegrass roots, rock grit, and 80s underground textures to Sunflurry. Suki Kuehn: Cello Suki Kuehn was born in Japan to a Navy family and began studying cello in fifth grade. After a stint in the Navy driving nuclear submarines, he settled in New Orleans, where his adventures included working as a chemical engineer and performing in various folk and rock ensembles. Along the way, he earned his private pilot license. He plays an old French cello that, for who-knows-how-long, lived in a barn south of Paris shaping Sunflurry's and analog foot drums hand-built by Pete Farmer, a little mysterious, and very much alive.
