The screening will bring back to the big screen the kind school comedy by Ilya Frez based on the story by Evgeny Schwartz - the tale of the capricious Marusya, who learns to make friends, trust, and feel more confident at school. At the center of the story is Marusya Orlova, a self-loving and capricious girl, who finds herself for the first time in a world of lessons, rules, new acquaintances, and responsibilities. Her first days at school consist of small victories, grievances, fears, and discoveries that resonate with children from different generations. Gradually, Marusya changes thanks to her classmates and her teacher Anna Ivanovna. School stops being a foreign and frightening space for her. The film was directed by Ilya Frez based on the eponymous story by Evgeny Schwartz. For the director, this was one of his early works, but it already shows his ability to pay close attention to the feelings of young heroes and to depict growing up through everyday, seemingly small events. The film will be screened on 35mm film from the collection of the Russian State Film Fund. If you don't know where to walk in Moscow, check out KUDAGO.
