The screening brings back to the big screen the fantastic tragicomedy by Georgiy Daneliya - a film whose language has long become part of popular culture. The film will be shown on 35mm film from the collection of the State Film Fund, and it will be introduced by Lena Kalinina before the screening. Foreman Vladimir Mashkov goes out for bread and pasta, meets a strange man with a device for transportation, and together with a random companion finds himself on a distant planet Pluk. From this incident grows a satirical fantasy, where the funny constantly coexists with the alarming, and the alien world turns out to be too recognizable. Georgiy Daneliya's film was released in 1986 and initially gathered a multi-million audience, later gaining a second life in everyday speech. The words and expressions invented for the film have gone far beyond the screen and become part of domestic pop culture. At the same time, behind the comedic situations lies a discussion about social rules, hierarchy, human dignity, and the ability to maintain oneself in an absurd system. Before the start, the film will be introduced by Lena Kalinina - the chief specialist of the Public Relations Department of the State Film Fund of Russia. The screening is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Evgeny Leonov.
