Directorial experiments based on Pushkin by young directors Arseny Meshcheryakov and Arseny Bekhterev under the curatorship of Andrey Moguchy and Alexander Shishkin. The directors chose Pushkin's plays "The Stone Guest" and "Feast During the Plague" for their experiments. These classic plots are connected by the common theme of the "fatal feast," according to the expression of the writer Yuri Lotman. In the first case, it is a feast with the stone Commander, and in the second - a feast amidst a deadly epidemic. There is also logic in the fact that the young experimenters chose these particular works. Pushkin himself originally called his cycle of miniature dramas "experiments in dramatic studies," and the title "Little Tragedies" was assigned to it much later, when the author was no longer alive.
