Director Alexander Kladko has transferred the events of the play to our time and discovered: completely incredible events are still happening today due to infantilism. In his interpretation of the play by Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol, the director contrasts the real world with the virtual one. In his opinion, progress provides convenience and a sense of security, but does not protect people from many problems. On the contrary, new problems arise. For example, people are becoming more and more disconnected, do not understand each other, and do not try to understand, hiding in virtual reality. And infantilism, fear of life, and the desire to escape from responsibility in the 21st century have only intensified. The scenography of the play also reflects two worlds, one - complex and sometimes unbearable, the other - bright and tempting, where all problems are solved with a click. Maybe it's worth completely escaping from reality? But will life itself remain then? You can find even more plays in St. Petersburg on our website in the theater section.
