A production based on the eponymous story by Vasily Shukshin on the Third Stage of the theatre. The directors tried to find out whether it is possible to reflect the meaning embedded by the author without directly illustrating the text. They aimed to protect Kolya - the hero of the story, a "little man" - and give weight to his story. They even wanted to prevent the irreparable. However, they could not overcome Shukshin's ruthlessness. In the end, the finale will be as the writer intended, and the creators of the play are left to fight for the hero's soul. For the scariest thing is not death, but a life without meaning. See more performances on our website in the theatre section.
