Director Aidar Zabbarov's production "Resurrection" addresses the eponymous novel by Leo Tolstoy, which examines the weakness and strength of the human soul, as well as the habit of ignoring evil. At the center is the story of Prince Dmitry Nekhlyudov, who, while participating in a trial, recognizes in the accused his long-lost acquaintance Katusha Maslova. Once, he destroyed her fate, and now he faces the necessity of making a moral choice. The desire to atone for his guilt leads the hero to decide to help the girl, but the path proves to be more complicated than he expected. Nekhlyudov encounters the indifference of those around him and the cruelty of a system where those without support suffer. The attempt to correct the past turns into an internal trial, where it is important to understand whether forgiveness and change are possible.
