A theatrical version of the work by Thomas Mann by Konstantin Bogomolov. In the work of the German classic and genius novelist of global scale, the main character, who arrives at a sanatorium, meets several remarkable characters. At some point, it becomes clear that they all embody different sides of modern social thought and life. Here is liberalism in the form of a writer concerned with issues of progress and enlightenment, and conservatism in the form of a Jesuit, attuned to mysticism, promoting traditional views, and hedonism of a coffee magnate, seducing a Russian patient. All this takes place against the backdrop of thunder, signaling a threat over all of Europe. In Konstantin Bogomolov's first play on the stage of the Electric Theatre "Stanislavsky", the director engages in a dialogue with himself. The audience will have to ascend to high altitudes, where the sun provokes not joy, but rather decay, and where elevated words shine like snow on the peaks.
