The theatre has turned for the first time to Maxim Gorky's play "Vassa Zheleznova," which centers on the problem of family disintegration. Gorky wrote his play in 1910, and it did not initially address themes of social inequality or revolutionary ideas. The author added all of this later, in the 1930s. Originally, the play focused on family issues - the most important human institution. The plot revolves around the wealth of the Zheleznov family, which can be inherited by all family members after the father's death. Everyone wants to receive their share, but no one, except for the widow of the deceased Vassa, thinks about preserving the family business. To continue what her husband started, Vassa must concentrate all the capital in her hands, and for this, she is willing to eliminate competitors.
