A research play in the space of the Chamber Stage of the theater. The production was created for a research festival called "... so that you shall not be judged." The author of the idea and the artistic director of the festival is Lev Dodin. The main theme of the project is the conflict between the artist-creator and the authority, the state, and society. In exploring this question, the theater turned to documents from a bygone era: diaries, letters, notes from those who lived in the realities of that time. The play "Bacchanalia. Pasternak" is dedicated to Boris Pasternak and his novel "Doctor Zhivago," the story of its creation and fate has already become legendary. The authors of the script are Lev Dodin, Igor Evseev, and Valery Galendeev, the latter also served as the director. The idea for the artistic design of the play belongs to Alexander Borovsky - one of the leading domestic scenographers. You can find more plays in St. Petersburg on our website in the theater section.
