A two-part film by Vitaly Melnikov titled "Vacation in September" featuring Oleg Dal and Irina Kupchenko was made based on it. Askar Galimov and the artists of the Vakhtangov Theatre present their view of Vampilov's characters from the 21st century. The main character of the play, thirty-year-old Zilov, lives a monotonous life where the same events and problems keep recurring. He has lost faith in a bright Soviet future and in any future at all, as well as in everything bright. Everything around him has become unbearable.
