The play is based on the novel by Grigory Kanovich. It tells the story of elderly Jews whose journey from the province to the city of Vilnius turns into a long path - a path of memory and difficult reflections, a path of realizing one's own fate. Each of the characters walks their own life path, and each encounters various surprises along the way. But the main theme of this production is the philosophy of life, in which every living being has its own fate and purpose, and the road to the hearts of their own children, who grow more distant from their parents with each passing day. The director of the play, Rimas Tuminas, has created a work in which it is not easy to find anything bright and joyful. Yet the elderly still have hope that if God smiles at them, then everything will turn out as planned for them and their children. No one will die before their destined time, and all their dreams, whatever they may be, will come true. Although these hopes and aspirations are completely different, it makes no sense to divide them into "right" and "wrong." Each has their own, and therein lies a certain higher meaning of the world that created us to be different from one another. Director - Rimas Tuminas. The cast includes: S. Makovetsky, V. Simonov, V. Sukhorukov, E. Knyazev, A. Guskov, Yu. Rutberg, O. Chipovskaya, A. Ryshchenkov, A. Kuznetsov, E. Fyodorov, O. Makarov, G. Antipenko. See even more plays on our website in the theater section.
