One moment - and wings resembling a magical scarf unfold behind it. With a light motion, the camel transforms… into a fire-breathing dragon! That doesn’t happen? Perhaps not in an ordinary circus. But in a puppet one - easily. The troupe of marionettes is managed by just one person - St. Petersburg artist, actor, and puppeteer Viktor Antonov. His "Circus on Strings" has conquered Western Europe. Now Muscovites can also appreciate the puppeteer's skill. There are no words in this performance. But there is music and a multitude of complex devices. And each of them has its own unique act. Here, little monkeys tumble joyfully. Cyclists toss gold weights while riding. A fakir risks his puppet life by swallowing knives. An elusive bird hops on the nose of a funny clown. An Eastern beauty performs a complex belly dance. A magician pours real water into a vase, and before the astonished audience, a flower grows from the vessel. By the way, the fire bursting from the dragon's mouth is also very real. And finally, the most astonishing act for the audience: a strongman marionette lifts a heavy load and from the effort… turns red. Little ones may watch this performance as a fun and colorful puppet show. But older children and adults will appreciate how much work and skill went into each of the tricks.
