The theater presents its own edition of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov's play. Director Sergey Zhenovach considers this play to be the harshest and most tragic of all Chekhov's works. Masha's statement about Vershinin - "he seemed strange to me at first, then I felt sorry for him... then I loved him..." - applies to all the characters, who initially seem strange, then you feel sorry for them, empathize. In the end, you love them, accepting all their imperfections and delusions. They become like close people. The director is convinced that without loving the characters, it is impossible to tell this poignant story. There arises a desire to seek the meaning of life together with them.
