A modern interpretation of the biblical parable of Job directed by French director Patrick Somie. "Inn Eternity" is a landmark production for MDT: it is the first Russian staging of Mohamed Kasimi, one of the most popular contemporary French playwrights. The play was created in collaboration with Patrick Somie, a guest director from France. Kasimi's text is an interpretation of the biblical parable about the long-suffering Job. Together with his wife, he opens a restaurant in a seaside resort, abandoning everything for the dream of cool wine, refreshing breezes, and the scent of jasmine. However, Job and Dalia are unable to find the long-awaited peace, as the city is shaken by religious strife that culminates in a monstrous slaughter. The desperate couple is brought back to life by the appearances of a strange stranger who visits them on Christmas Eve. Addressing biblical motifs, Kasimi - a Frenchman of Algerian descent, touches on issues relevant to the modern world: intolerance, religious fanaticism, and desperate attempts to find meaning.
