About

Andrei Konchalovsky has transferred the characters of Ingmar Bergman's play to 1990s Russia. Konchalovsky has previously addressed the play "Marital Life" while working with the Naples theatre, where his characters were Italian. In the Moscow production, the plot unfolds in our 90s. The director himself admits that there is some national shift in the interpretation of the characters, but this does not negate the genius of Bergman's immersion into the essence of the relationships between a man and a woman. And the famous phrase by Leo Tolstoy about happy and unhappy families is very apt here. You can see even more performances on our website in the theatre section.
