A puppet show based on the novellas of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, directed by Viktor Nikonенко. The performance tells three parables about happiness that suddenly burst into the lives of the characters and completely changed them. The beginning of it all was a mysterious, enigmatic, incredible meeting. Marquez's stories have been adapted for puppet theatre for the first time, and the actors faced a serious task - to convey deep meanings through objects. Instead of puppet strings, the puppets in this production are controlled by the hands of the artists themselves and guiding sticks. The characters, made to human height, turned out realistic, but their "puppetness" is still evident: the joints of the puppets are clearly visible. The performance is accompanied by the live melody of a saxophone, creating a unique atmosphere. The metaphorical view of a person as a puppet in the hands of higher powers is fully embodied in this production. The play, set design, and direction were created by Viktor Nikonенко, an outstanding theatrical artist and holder of the "Golden Mask". The amazing poetic reality he created, endowed with grotesque and humor, harmoniously combines with Marquez's "magical realism". The first of the three stories is a melodrama, the second is a satire, and the third is created in the form of a lyrical concert. For more performances, visit our website in the theatre section.
