An opera in two acts for young viewers based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. In the story, the beautiful but cold and unfeeling queen of ice and snow takes away little Kai. Meanwhile, loyal Gerda tries to find her way to her kingdom to save her friend and return home with him. The devoted girl fears neither the cold, nor dangers, nor sorcery. The adaptation of the eponymous work by the Danish storyteller Andersen is by Yevgeny Schwartz, who has played a bit with the characters' traits, adding a new quality to each and introducing several new characters. The librettists are Roxana Sats and Viktor Ryabov. The production features music by the famous composer Alexander Flyarkovsky. The children's opera was directed by Viktor Ryabov, and creating the New Year's magic on stage were artists Anatoly and Anna Nezhny. The choreographic elements of the production were handled by Irina Korneyeva and Boris Lyapaev. The performance is aimed at viewers aged 7 and older.
