The play based on Pushkin's works at the Theater of Nations was directed by the famous American director and playwright Robert Wilson. One of the most sought-after directors in the world, the American avant-garde theater representative Robert Wilson presented his Russian project to the audience in June 2015. This performance will not feature the bright, shiny decorations and costumes typical of "Pushkin" productions: a bare "backdrop," dark silhouettes of actors floating across the stage - this is all the director limited himself to, whose presentations include elements of cinema, pantomime, circus tricks, and contemporary dance. This synthetic genre is also maintained in his Russian play "Pushkin's Tales," where, as the creators announce, familiar childhood images will appear in a completely new guise. By the way, Wilson also involved his team in the production - opera director Nicola Panzera, set designer Annick Lavallee-Benny, as well as musicians from the famous American group CocoRosie, working in the freak-folk style.
