A hooligan comedy by Yuli Kim and Petr Fomenko starring Maria Andreeva in the lead role. The musical performance based on Shakespeare's comedy "As You Like It" was written by Yuli Kim back in the mid-60s. Since then, this is already the third production by Petr Fomenko: the first two times, during the USSR era, it was banned for hooliganism and unreliability. The current performance was staged by the director with trainee actors recruited to the theater in 2007. The production has taken root and has become part of the repertoire. Little remains of the Shakespearean text: Kim significantly cut the text, then retold it, removed most of the characters, and inserted songs into all suitable places in the play. However, the signature Fomenko lightness, self-irony, and overt theatricality emerged. However, as actor Kirill Pirogov (film "The Walk") admits, the apparent lightness is the result of great effort. Pirogov plays a resident of the Ardennes Forest - Jacques the melancholic. One of the main roles - Rosalind, who escapes to the forest with her friend, is played by the star of the film "Duhless" Maria Andreeva. The actors on stage cheerfully misbehave: deftly jump on tables, duel, sing, and fight with plush lions, while also addressing general philosophical questions. The duration of the performance is 3 hours and 10 minutes with an intermission. You can find even more performances on our website in the theater section.
