A play about the great writer Leo Tolstoy based on a work by contemporary author Marius Ivaškevičius. The artistic director of the theater, Mindaugas Karbauskis, continues to work with the works of Leo Tolstoy. In this production, the director has brought to life Ivaškevičius's play about the writer himself. The Lithuanian playwright dedicated several years to studying Tolstoy's life and creative path, conversing with Tolstoy scholars, and searching for unique facts. The resulting composition reflects the fate of one of the greatest Russian thinkers in all its complexity. Ivaškevičius created a family saga, a version of "Anna Karenina," but here Leo Nikolayevich is not only the author of the novel but also of his own family drama. Sometimes the works are based on the writer's life, but there are also those that create his future life. Or break it. This is the second play by the Lithuanian playwright after "Kant," staged at the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theater. Scenography by Sergey Barkhin.
