Fantastic puppet variations on themes from Swift's novel. Gulliver embarked on his first journey three centuries ago. This is a kind of manifesto of a satirical writer from the distant 18th century, however, besides amusing adventures, the story of Gulliver is filled with moral lessons, lengthy descriptions, and cumbersome details. Swift created it according to the literary canons of his time, and to the modern reader, this work sometimes seems overly ornate. To fully convey the traveler's sensations of encountering both Lilliputians and giants, director Ekaterina Obraztsova decided to intertwine in one huge bouquet the play of light and shadow, a variety of fabrics, quality scenography, and musical accompaniment. The characters sometimes shrink so much that one must look closely to notice the tiny Gulliver, sometimes they turn into real giants, and sometimes they even split. On stage, both live actors and animated puppets flash by. By the way, there are more than forty puppets, and all of them are different - some move with a stick, some on a glove basis, and some have a tablet base.
