But humor is not the only thing that prevails, as, like in the life of any boy, various events occur in Tom's life: the heroes fall in love for the first time, find themselves in a mysterious dark cave, meet a real Indian, and end up at a cemetery at night… The setting is a backwater town of St. Petersburg on the banks of the Mississippi. The plot unfolds according to the storyline of the book, but those who have read the work will find differences as well. The vocabulary of the young heroes is peppered with modern slang that, of course, did not exist in the times described in the novel, but on stage, it sounds harmonious, emphasizing the closeness of the heroes to modern kids. The author himself is also present in the play - Mark Twain comments on the events, makes witty remarks, essentially reminiscing about his own childhood, full of adventures and amazing discoveries.
