About

Victoria Isakova and Igor Gordin in a comedic melodrama based on Bernard Slade's play about ex-spouses who decided to remain friends. Emma and Michael Ruskin are parents of three children, celebrating their fifteenth wedding anniversary. They seemed like an exemplary family until they suddenly filed for divorce. For the sake of their children's future and the memory of the past, the ex-spouses decide to part amicably and promise to maintain a friendly relationship. Fate throws the characters many reasons to meet - both sad and joyful. Each of them gives a fleeting chance to bring the family back together, but is it possible when love has faded? The production "Reason to Stay" honestly and humorously tells how difficult it is to maintain warm relationships after a breakup. The roles are played by Victoria Isakova and Igor Gordin - a new acting duo performing together on stage for the first time. Igor Teplov, the director of the play: "The main characters of the play are a married couple. But somewhere nearby, offstage, in conversations, their three children are always present. I found it interesting to look at the whole story through their eyes. The children, on one hand, suffered the most after their parents' separation, and on the other hand - helped Michael and Emma to be together again and grow up. The children watch adults who behave like children. Dramatic and funny". Schedule: August 25 and 26 at 19:00 - Mayakovsky Theater: 19/13 Bolshaya Nikitskaya St., bldg. 1; August 30 at 19:00 - Vakhtangov Theater: 26 Arbat St. For details and to purchase tickets, visit the official website.
