Anatoly Shulyev turned to the prose of Alexander Pushkin. Anatoly Shulyev staged Pushkin in his own adaptation. This is his fifth play at the Vakhtangov Theatre and the second on the Main Stage (the first was "Amadeus"). The artistic design of Pushkin's stories was created by a brilliant duo - set designer Maxim Obrezkov and costume designer Maria Danilova. Pushkin's tales on stage are brought to life by a dozen and a half actors from the theatre, ranging from veterans to young artists who have recently joined the troupe.
