One of the testimonies to this is "Last Meetings" - surprisingly organic and cohesive play based on four stories by the classic. "Last Meetings" is a light, yet by no means frivolous act, presented by the "Workshop of Peter Fomenko" as part of the "Evening of Trials and Errors". The production by Yuri Titov may seem somewhat unfinished. However, this can rather be considered one of the merits of the play, as it resembles a watercolor sketch made in a sudden burst of inspiration. The charm of the stage composition lies in its deliberate theatricality, shaded by endearing sincerity, in the relevant retro style, which is associated not with a prim old maid, but with a playful lady in vintage attire. Despite the fact that the stories unfolding before the audience are united by the sad theme of missed happiness, the production cannot be called tragic. It is filled with contradictory, yet bright feelings. The joy here is not overshadowed, but only slightly diluted by sadness, and wise irony saves from melancholy.
