The hero of the fairy tale is extraordinarily lucky. Thanks to a happy chance, he learns a magical phrase that grants any wish. Emelya is the youngest son in the family. More than anything in the world, he loves to lie on the stove and do nothing. One day, when his brothers went to the fair, his sisters-in-law asked him to bring water. He didn't agree right away, only after they promised him a treat from the fair. Emelya came to the river, chopped the ice with an axe, filled two buckets with water, and saw a pike under the ice. He grabbed it with his hand. The fish begged in a human voice, asking to be released back into the hole. But Emelya stubbornly insisted - he wanted to eat hot fish soup. Then the pike taught him the magical words that grant any wish. Emelya released the fish and commanded the buckets to go home. All the villagers came out to the street to watch the wonderful procession. The encounter with the pike completely changed Emelya's life. Now everything he wishes for happens by itself: firewood is chopped and stacked in the stove, sleds travel without horses, even the stove comes out of the house to take him to the royal palace. The performance is based on Russian folk tales. The premiere took place in 1936, and since then the performance has not left the theatrical stage. Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes.
