A light, yet not frivolous play by Pierre Marivaux, which has not been staged in Russia before. This performance is the first production by the young director Asya Knyazeva. Marivaux's play inherits the traditions of the mask theater, but sounds sharp and relevant. The playwright contemplated how society and its hierarchy are structured, and whether it is possible to fight against it. According to the plot, shipwrecked gentlemen and their servants find themselves on an island inhabited by the descendants of ancient slaves. How will the relationships between aristocrats, servants, and those who no longer intend to obey anyone develop in these conditions? See more performances on our website in the theater section.
