The story of a confession from the hero of Nikolai Leskov's work. The endless Lake Ladoga is known not only for its frequent storms, which rival those of the sea. It is home to Valaam, the famous space of ascetic monks. Every tree on the island is nourished by faith and self-sacrifice. This place is present in the plot of Nikolai Leskov - it is there that his hero sails, beginning to confess to his fellow travelers. In his tales, memories and fears, sins and regrets intertwine. Natalia Kovaleva found it important to convey the full spectrum of complex emotions from the stage, translating literary images into elements of dramatic interpretation. On the Simonov stage of the Vakhtangov Theatre, this premiere promises to become one of the highlights of the season. See even more performances on our website in the theatre section.
