Gogol's tale has found a new sound in Oleg Dolin's play. According to Oleg Dolin, who made his debut at the Vakhtangov Theatre, he and the artists were searching for how the fantastic tale of the inhabitants of Dikanka should look and sound today. The task was to penetrate the depths of Gogol's characters, creating a performance in the Vakhtangov traditions of actor distancing. The play takes place in the ascetic space of the "Amphitheater" hall, and the main working method for the actors became the etude. A composition based on the text was created, in which the design of the space and video play an important role. See more performances on our website in the theater section.
