Created by the famous Russian director Sergey Obraztsov, "Extraordinary Concert" became a true star among puppet performances of the 20th century and an unparalleled phenomenon in the performing arts worldwide. The triumphant success of the performance began on the day of its premiere in 1946 and continues to this day. Over 10,000 performances of the show around the globe have earned it a well-deserved place in the Guinness Book of Records. What is the uniqueness of the production? According to the director, it is a comedic puppet revue that mocks not the genres themselves, but the artists who ruin these genres with their poor performances. According to the original concept of the director, the program was to include humorous parodies of the use of standard concert techniques and stage stereotypes of that time, as well as various genres of arts, including domestic and foreign songs. The revival of the performance in a new edition took place in 1968, with the director keeping the entire program unchanged, including the witty remarks of the host, sparkling bright humor, and satirical portrayals of character images. In 1972, a film based on the production was released. The current performance is led by the incomparable puppet host Eduard Applombov, who possesses polyglot skills - he can effortlessly deliver jokes and puns in succession in 24 languages of the peoples of the world, including Hindi and Persian.
