The play based on Anna Baturina's play "Frontovichka" - about how war distorts fates. The main character is a student who goes from the ballet studio to the front. Later, she will get typhus, lose a child, and experience the betrayal of a loved one. Maria's heart, having endured so much grief, will nevertheless remain loving and brave. This story does not romanticize war but shows how terrible it is, how it distorts lives, sparing no one. Maria will survive and later teach a new generation of girls ballet and tell them that someone sacrificed their life for their happy lives.
