Konstantin Khabensky and Yuri Bashmet in a play based on "The Little Prince." The fantastical production combines dramatic art, an orchestra, impressive scenery, and video art into a cohesive whole. The play was directed by Petersburg director Viktor Kramer, who also served as the set designer and costume designer. The musical component was created by composer Kuzma Bodrov. His original music will be performed, along with his arrangements of works by Brahms and Mahler. The orchestra artists do not just perform the music; they become full participants in the action. The creators of the play did not attempt to transfer Exupery's tale of the boy living on his own planet to the stage - it is something more than just an illustration. Before its premiere at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre, the play ran for six years at the "Sovremennik," which this time participated in the production as a partner.
